Daniel O'Rourke MFT

Welcome to my web site. For 27 years, I have been a California licensed psychotherapist with a private practice in the San Diego. I have worked in the field of substance abuse and addictive behaviors for over most of my career. My scope of practice also includes individual counseling for mood problems like depression or anxiety, working with those who are suffering with chronic illness and trauma people with unresolved family issues.

Many clients utilize my services for personal growth and help in achieving professional goals. My mission is to provide a supportive, caring and safe environment to help you achieve emotional well-being, and to bring balance to your life.

My clinical approach of emotionally-focused short term therapy can transform the stressors in your life, be they from relationships at home, work, or the relationship with yourself, into unique opportunities for improvement and change. This approach will help you understand the hidden meaning in your feelings of anxiety, depression or frustration. Once you understand yourself at this deeper level, you can move forward from “stuckness” into empowerment and choice. With this self-understanding comes lasting insight, which enables you to more easily find solutions to future problems as they arise.

You can read more about me by looking at my About page. To make an appointment or for any questions please see my Contact page.  Thank you for visiting my web site.
